Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
Under minimal supervision, the incumbent will engineer, develop, and assist with all computer systems required to control the refinery with the greatest possible accuracy through selection, design, procurement, installation, development, commissioning, and maintenance of the control systems.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
* High School Diploma or equivalent required
* 2-year technical degree in electronics, computer hardware and/or software preferred. Experience and qualification as an instrument technician and electrician in lieu of degree may be considered.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
* Demonstrated aptitude to be trained on DCS, PLC's, and instrumentation required.
* Demonstrate ability to work within OSI PI to plot trends for troubleshooting or incident investigations
* 5 years of experience in refinery operations preferred.
* 5 years of experience working with analyzers, instrumentation, and controls preferred.
* Experience on Honeywell TDC, Honeywell Experion, or Rockwell PLC's systems is preferred.
* Ability to troubleshoot valves, transmitters, levels, and control systems preferred.
* Proficient skills in MS Office Suite desired.
* Fluent in English, oral and written required.
* Good mechanical aptitude and interest in working in a manufacturing environment, after hours call out and turnaround (12-hr shift) support, as needed.
* Ability to adjust schedule to meet business demands.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES
* Assist in providing support for the Plant Control Operations.
* Configuration of Operator interface displays on process control systems.
* Conduct Operator training for enhanced process control reliability and efficiency.
* Assist in P&ID reviews for control design.
* Assist in the development of process alarm management.
* As needed, prepare oral presentations and written reports
* Regularly communicate with supervisor of progress, roadblocks, and concerns.
* Interrogate Control System and issue alarm and event reports immediately after incidents
EXPECTED RESULTS
* Provide DCS operational and maintenance support (programming and hardware support) from the card in the rack to the operator terminal in the control room.
* Provide PLC operational and maintenance support (programing and hardware support) from the PLC to the DCS.
* EIV/ESD operation and maintenance support.
* Assist instrument and operations personnel in troubleshooting instrumentation issues.
* Adherence to all company policies and procedures.
